A Pot of Joy comes in a mini collection of four paintings within Blossom of Joy. It is a 6" X 6" canvas block filled with memory and meanings. The Chinese character on the teapot says Happiness, it symbolizes Joy.
I grew up at the foothill of the Baiyun Mountain in Guangzhou, China. My father was a traditional Chinese painter and calligrapher (ink on rice paper) and loved to sketch the mountain scenery. When I was a child, every Saturday our family climbed up the mountain and my father sketched the mountain scenery while I played in the stream of a waterfall. On Sundays, the whole family usually went to the Orchid Garden in Guangzhou where they enjoyed the fragrant orchid tea.
Brewing and drinking a cup of fragrant tea became so meaningful to me to this day. It is a reminder of staying in the present moment. You simmer the water, pour it into the pot, see the flower petals uncurl, bath in its aroma, and finally pour it in your cup and taste its sweetness. You let it in to nourish your body and soul. It is a part of a joyous journey, an unknown adventure, and finally, come home.
The Blossom of Joy Oringal Acrylic Painting Collection is inspired by my core values: beauty, joy, growth, freedom and inner harmony.
